An honest reflection on what I’m letting go of, what I’m holding onto, and how I’m finding my way forward.
At the end of June 2025, I wrapped up a contract that’s quietly shaped the last three years of my life.
It started back in 2022 as a six-month, full-time project, supporting the client-facing team of a wealth management company through a major software implementation.
At the same time, I’d also decided to write my book (because, of course, I thought I could do both).
It was intense.
Honestly, it stretched me more than I expected, especially when it came to my energy and relationships.
When they offered to extend the contract, I knew something had to change.
I made the call to offer them two days a week and that’s what I’ve done ever since.
It’s been my ‘bills work’ while I’ve quietly rebuilt and repositioned my business around the work that really lights me up.
Last month, that chapter came to a close.
The project was complete.
No drama, just… done.
And while there was definitely a sense of closure, I’m not going to pretend I’ve landed neatly on the next thing.
The reality is, I’m now looking at a gaping hole in my income.
But here’s the other truth: it’s not just about the money.
I’m incredibly grateful to be in a position where I’m supported (both financially and emotionally) by my husband.
And I share this not to boast or downplay the pressure, but because I never want to give the impression I’ve got it all figured out.
That my business is this perfectly polished machine.
It’s not.
It’s a work in progress.
It’s messy, and I’m still learning every single day.
Something that has been consistent, though, is how I’ve looked after myself through all of this.
Throughout those three years of juggling client work and business-building, one thing I’ve protected—imperfectly, but consistently—is my own wellbeing.
Not in a “smash your goals” kind of way, but in the gentle rhythms and routines that keep me grounded.
Things like morning movement, outdoor walks, and the quiet support of my very own cheerleading team: the Forever Fit & Fabulous Club.
It’s one of the few spaces where I get to show up as I am, encourage others, and be encouraged in return.
That ongoing focus on feeling good in myself, physically and emotionally, has made a huge difference.
And I know that if I didn’t have those small but meaningful anchors in place, this transition would feel a lot more wobbly.
So here I am.
In the space in between.
Letting go of the bills work that’s sustained me.
Continuing to build the thrills work that still doesn’t bring in quite enough.
And choosing, as best I can, to trust the process.
If you’re navigating your own version of that—trying to honour your energy, meet your responsibilities, and grow something meaningful—I see you.
You’re not behind.
You’re building.
I know how easy it is to feel like you’re the only one trying to figure it all out quietly behind the scenes.
If you’re in that place too—navigating change, wondering what’s next, or just craving a bit of steadiness—I want you to know there are spaces and tools to help you gather yourself before the next season begins.
Reflect & Reset happens every month—a gentle opportunity to take stock, reconnect with your goals, and reset your energy before the next season kicks in.
If you’d like to join the next one, you’d be so welcome.
